Business Mission
Business Projects
The project embarked on its mission in the spring of 2012 in Kathmandu as a pioneering social project. Designed to empower Nepali women by imparting essential skills in logical thinking and practical proficiency through knitting training, our initiative served as a precursor to understanding the local culture before establishing our business. Presently, we are gearing up to relaunch our workshop in new locations across Nepal, continuing our commitment to women’s empowerment and skill development.
The restaurant debuted in April 2014 within the serene confines of Standard Nursery in Kathmandu. Boasting a family-friendly atmosphere, it served as a charming garden restaurant, event venue, and hub for farm products. Regrettably, its doors shuttered in August 2015, succumbing to the harsh realities of disrupted supply chains induced by the border blockade following the earthquake on April 25, 2015
The restaurant was launched in April 2015, nestled in a quaint corner of central Kathmandu. This unique eatery redefined dining experiences, featuring an interactive setup where orders were taken, meals were cooked, and dishes were served over the bar, fostering a dynamic connection between customers and the skilled cooks trained to commercial cooking standards by Chef Jade. Unfortunately, the venture faced an untimely closure due to an accident involving Chef Jade, prompting the cessation of business operations.
The brand emerged from the creative vision of Chef Jade in January 2020. Inspired to craft a range of bottled kimchi varieties, she began producing them in her own kitchen and distributing them through farmers’ markets and delivery sales channels. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent blockade, this period unexpectedly provided a favorable opportunity for the nascent brand to thrive. Today, Himal Kimchi has established a business location in Kathmandu, where it continues to expand its offerings beyond kimchi, venturing into a diverse array of preserved and fermented food products.

Five Elements Organic Bastion Pvt. Ltd.
The company established in September 2013 by Charlie Baba and Chef Jade, the company focuses on sustainable agricultural practices, emphasizing organic farming of fruit and nut trees alongside herbal plants and vegetable gardens, supplemented by small-scale domestic animal husbandry to enhance food supply and profitability. Committed to preserving traditional and alternative farming methods globally, they advocate for an alternative living ethos where nature sustains human needs without chemicals or pesticides. Their mission extends beyond sustainability, promoting the economic viability of organic living. Embracing a global perspective, they cultivate a diverse range of produce, from Pakistan almond and Israeli apple to Japanese grape and Korean kaki, while striving to counteract the decline of herbal medicine cultivation and industrial dairy practices. Ultimately, their goal is to ensure the continuity of these practices for future generations, fostering a harmonious relationship between humanity and the environment.
Chef Jade and Charlie Baba’s journey commenced amidst the serene landscapes of Kathmandu back in 2012, where their shared passion for organic farming ignited a profound vision. With silent determination, he planted a seed of collaboration, culminating in the inception of a farm project. Nestled in the fertile lands of Panauti, upon the hallowed grounds of his Guru, he embarked on a venture imbued with reverence for tradition and a commitment to organic principles.
#BABAGUARANTEE
The brand was created by Charlie Baba to promote “original products from guaranteed people” as associate concept with the same intensions of sustainable farming to harmonize with the natural courses.
